Beginning in 2021 the Virginia Vipers Softball Association popularity created a growth of the organization into a larger audience and became the Heroes Athletic Association (HAA).  The Heroes had a wonderful 2022. The Heroes fielded four teams in the spring/summer competition and three teams in the fall. Gino Yannotti really stood up in support of all Heroes teams.  Gino coordinated to ensure all bills for all four teams were paid in a timely manner,  communicated with all Senior coaches on weekly rosters, in addition to coaching the teams when possible.  Bravo Zulu Gino!

The Virginia Vipers Softball Club for Veterans had a unique 2020 season.  COVID19 wreaked HAVOC on all softball leagues in and around Fairfax County.  With so many challenges, the Vipers lost their Five-Sided Vipers Arlington league opportunity in both the spring/summer and fall.  However, both the Long-Fanged Vipers and Vintage Vipers were able to compete in a summer Seniors league and a Fall Seniors league.  This year had the advent of changing the team names as well.  The Long-Fanged Vipers moved from that name to Heroes Athletic Association.  Additionally, the charity was proud to add a new team in Manassas run by Chip Campbell and Chris Benoit.  However, it was a challenging year for all teams as none of our squads were able to finish 1st or 2nd.

The Virginia Vipers Softball Club for Veterans had another strong season in 2019.  The organization sponsored one spring open team, one summer open team, one Senior team, one fall Seniors teams and two fall open teams. Possibly, the big challenge this year was Fairfax Adult Softball (FAS), particularly Seniors softball and how the seeding of teams took place.  This compelled the Vipers to play in Arlington and FXA. Both new leagues were a super experience. Additionally, this year, the local news station – WJLA – covered the Vipers and their advocacy mission, which supports educating the Fairfax community on Military and Veteran suicide epidemic.  We appreciate all of our sponsors who have helped us since 1997 create this fabulous group supporting our active military, veterans and their spouses.  Thank you.

The Virginia Vipers Softball Club for Veterans had another great season in 2016.  The organization sponsored one spring open team, one summer open team, two Senior teams and one fall Seniors team and a fall open team.  Additionally, the organization supported the routinely successful Herndon Over 40 squad.  This year, Fairfax Adult Softball suspended “35-and-older” play.   We appreciate all of our sponsors who have helped us since 1997 create this fabulous group supporting our active military, veterans and their spouses.  Thank you.

The Virginia Vipers Softball Club for Veterans had another solid campaign in 2015.  The organization sponsored six teams.  Those teams were a Five-Sided Vipers team, which played in the Fairfax Adult Softball Early Open League during the spring, a “35-and-older” team, which played in the summer, a Seniors team (50 and older), which also participated during the summer months an open team in Herndon throughout the softball season, another Five Sided Vipers Fall team, and the Senior team played fall ball as well.  We appreciate all of our sponsors who have helped us since 1997 create this fabulous group supporting our active military, veterans and their spouses.  Thank you.

The Virginia Vipers Softball Club for Veterans had an interesting 2014.  During the August Fairfax Adult Softball Hall of Fame ceremony, the VVSC for Veterans were one of two teams elected into the Hall of Fame.  The Vipers became the 2nd team to be inducted as a team.  Synonymous with good sportsmanship, solid teams and an appreciation for all facets of the game including the umpires, the Vipers were overwhelmingly elected in the class of 2014.  We appreciate all of our sponsors who have helped us since 1997 create this fabulous group supporting our active military, veterans and their spouses.  Thank you.
